To talk about the photo itself, it's not a set up or arranged in any way, I found this note in a room full of objects that can only lead me to suspect a one night stand. I don't need to explain them.
I guess s/he didn't want the cigarette afterwards.

The lighting is beautiful. I love the gauzy air to the paper and cig, as well as the moody note and script, especially.. Your work lately (this set?) echoes a lot of crime noir, if I might say.. Sultry and moody with a mysterious air.

Yeah, I've picked up on tones of that as well, I can see how it's taking on that effect of noir just a little bit anyway.
I lit the entire scene with a flashlight, so it turned out a little better than I thought it would.
